Untreated sewage flowing into Amsterdam creek

Untreated sewage is still flowing into the North Chuctanunda Creek in Amsterdam.

NewsChannel 13 first reported this on Friday. We received a follow-up alert on Monday saying the leak has not yet been contained.

The bottom of a sewage pipe rusted out between 27 and 31 Main Street in Amsterdam.

An estimated 14,000 gallons of untreated sewage is leaking into the creek every day. A contractor has been called, but so far has not been able to fix the problem.
