Lockdown lifted at Niskayuna middle school after bomb threat

NISKAYUNA - A lockdown at a Niskayuna middle school has been lifted after a bomb threat.

The district says Van Antwerp Middle School went into a shelter-in-place mode around noontime Wednesday. Police continue to investigate.

This comes two days after a five-and-a-half hour lockdown at Niskayuna High School, which delayed dismissal until around 6:30 p.m.

A forum on school safety was scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday in the high school auditorium.
