VERMONT- The Vermont Attorney General filed lawsuits on Thursday against DuPont, 3M, and other chemical companies.

The state is seeking damages for contamination of groundwater and drinking water with PFOA.

Studies have found potential links between high levels of PFOA and a range of illnesses including kidney cancer.

The chemical was recently found in water around two former factories in the Bennington area.
