Vermont to put together report on clergy abuse

August 06, 2019 04:22 AM

The Child Victims Act takes effect August 14th here in New York State.

Survivors of child sex abuse will have one year to pursue their case in court.

Meanwhile, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Vermont is putting together a report on priests who have been accused of sexually abusing children.

Bishop Christopher Coyne commissioned the report last October and says he plans to release it by the end of this month.

He says extra time was needed to ensure a thorough and accurate accounting of accused priests.
