The Vermont man who went on a burglary spree in three counties last year will spend nine years in prison.

Jeremy Joseph was sent to state prison after pleading guilty to burglarizing homes in Washington, Rensselaer and Bennington counties.

Joseph would knock on doors during the day and when no one answered, he'd kick in the door and grab jewelry, guns and money.

Police say Joseph was searching for valuables and cash to buy crack cocaine.

He hit more than a dozen homes in Washington County and also has burglary charges pending in Bennington County.
