ALBANY -- Saturday marked International Overdose Awareness Day. The day has been held for more than twenty five years to remember the thousands of lives lost to addiction.

A vigil was held at Academy Park for community members to support each other and push for preventive measures.

Families from around the region were joined by local lawmakers, including Congressman Paul Tonko. The Albany County Sheriff, Craig Apple also attended.
