FAIRFAX, Va. - Even on the brightest of days, these are dark times at University Mall Theaters and for owner Mark O'Meara.

O'Meara has had to lay off a majority of the 40 employees working at his two theaters in Fairfax.

While they work through the unemployment insurance process, O'Meara is doing what he can to help. He's selling curbside concessions to try to meet payroll - even for the people he's let go.

There are many other industries also affected. See how an aviation worker is dealing with being laid off, by watching the video of the story.
