REXFORD - More than 100 volunteers got together in Rexford on Saturday in the fight against hunger.

They filled boxes with food that will be shipped to areas in need around the world.

Nearly 20,000 meals were packed into boxes and shipped out.

Organizers say the event grew even bigger than they expected.

Similar meal packaging events are taking place across the country, part of a movement to end hunger by the year 2030.
