WASHINGTON D.C.- A flash flood of historical proportions hit Washington DC and the surrounding area.
Three and a half inches of rain came down in only two hours.
The main power vault to the National Archives building was flooded, causing electrical outages and forcing the building to close.
It remains closed on Tuesday.
However, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are all safe.
