NewsChannel 13 spotted some people in Washington Park on Friday who were getting a sneak peek at the tulips before the big show.

There are 90,000 tulips in the park.

"Tulips love the cold weather. As soon as it reaches 75 [degrees] or above, they start cooking. They don't like to be warm. So this is the ideal spring for them, honestly," said Jessica Morgan, city gardener.

For a closer look at some of the tulips, watch the video of John Craig's story.
