NISKAYUNA  - Repair crews have fixed a broken water main in Niskayuna.

Mohawk Road between County Clare Lane and Rosendale Road was still shut down as of 4 p.m. Wednesday, because crews had to re-pave the street now that repairs are finished.

A boil water advisory was in effect as of Wednesday evening for homes in the area around the break.

A house at the corner of Mohawk and Rosendale is unlivable right now. A young family of four – including a baby, live there.

The water came rushing out through Mohawk Road, right in front of the house around 11 p.m. Tuesday. It went into the garage, down into the basement and across their front lawn.

The Niskayuna Fire Department tried to help the family pump everything out around 1 a.m., but it was still hip-deep as of lunchtime.

Hear from a frustrated neighbor who says this isn't the first, second, or even third water main break on this road over the years, by watching the video of John Craig's story.
