Winter storm leaves its mark on the Capital Region

February 07, 2018 06:35 PM

The roads were horrible Wednesday. Travel was a challenge at times as road crews worked to keep up with the snowfall. Signs on the Thruway reminded drivers to slow down.

NewsChannel 13 crews found several cars off the road. They also spotted an accident on I-90 by Exit 6 with multiple cars involved. No injuries were reported in that one.

The roadways have been somewhat empty all day at times when they would normally be packed with motorists. It looks people stayed home and let the plows do their job.

The snow cancelled 12 flights out of the Albany International Airport as of Wednesday evening. If you have a flight, be sure to check on its status before heading to the airport.

Amtrak tells NewsChannel 13 that trains are all running as scheduled - but it's always good to call ahead. You can also click here for service delays.

Snow emergencies have been declared in some locations. The weather has also caused many closings and delays.
