Woman embodies the true spirit of giving

Marsha Miller still remembers how tough times were growing up in Western New York – and was always touched by the kindness of strangers -- and never forgot how getting a gift made her feel.

She paid it forward on Wednesday, giving away hats she made to the kids at Girls Inc. in Schenectady.

Giving has really been a pattern of hers since 2009, when this oncology nurse started giving away her crafts to people in nursing homes, cancer survivors and more. She estimates she's given more than 500 pieces away, but she's the biggest recipient -- just seeing the joy that others feel.
