Woman hit and killed by van at Scotia parade

SCOTIA - An investigation is underway in Scotia, after a 69-year-old woman was hit and killed by a van Wednesday night.

It happened during the annual Memorial Day parade.

The woman was standing in the road with others from the Glenville Senior Center, waiting to enter the parade route. A van from the senior center was following them.

Police say the 75-year-old driver hit the victim, pinning her against a bus.

It's not clear if the driver will face charges.
