Woman injured after minivan crushed in Glenmont

GLENMONT - A woman is recovering after her minivan was crushed by a cargo container on Route 9W in Glenmont.

Police say a tractor-trailer hit an overpass, causing its cargo container to fall over onto a minivan traveling in the opposite direction.

The woman driving the minivan was rushed to Albany Medical Center. She is expected to survive.

Police say the tractor-trailer driver could face charges.

The road was closed for about two hours on Monday while crews cleared the roadway and the state Department of Transportation inspected the bridge for any damage.
