GE employee makes second court appearance after FBI raids home

The Niskayuna man accused of stealing trade secrets from General Electric was back in court on Thursday.

Xiaoqing Zheng appeared in Federal Court for the second time. He will be released Friday on $100,000 bail and have to wear an electronic-monitoring ankle bracelet.

Investigators say he hid sensitive data files in a digital photograph of a sunset and emailed them to himself.

Authorities say they also found a to-go bag in his Niskayuna home, filled with cash and passports.

Zheng's attorney says his client only transferred items to himself, not to China.
