Antonio Delgado declared winner of 19th congressional district primary

Antonio Delgado has been declared the winner in the Democratic Primary for the 19th congressional district.

Final results showed that Delgado won with 22 percent of the vote. Gareth Rhodes and Pat Ryan followed behind with 18 percent of the vote each.

Delgado was one of seven Democrats squaring off for the nomination.

He is a 41-year-old father of twin boys who was born and raised in Schenectady, became a Rhodes Scholar and went to Harvard Law. He now lives in Rhinebeck.

The district covers all or parts of Columbia, Delaware, Greene, Otsego, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Schoharie, Sullivan and Ulster counties.

Delgado will now face off against Republican John Faso.
