Governor Cuomo says the "Child Victims Act" will be included in this year's executive budget. He's vowing it will be enacted in the first 100 days.
This is a story NewsChannel 13 has been following for you for a long time.
There have been many rallies at the Capitol calling for the bill to be passed. It would increase the amount of time child sex abuse victims have to sue their abusers and increase the time suspects may be held criminally accountable.
Also, a one year window will be opened for victims whose claims have been time-barred, to have a new opportunity for their day in court.
