Childhood sexual abuse survivors rally in support of Child Victims Act

ALBANY - Survivors of childhood sexual abuse are calling on state lawmakers to act. They're hoping the Child Victims Act finally passes this year. With Democrats in control of both the Senate and Assembly, that may happen.

A rally was held outside the Senate chamber on Thursday.

The legislation would increase the statute of limitations for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. That would allow them to hold their abusers accountable in court, even if the crimes happened years ago.
