Governor Andrew Cuomo is blasting the Trump administration again for its proposal to eliminate state tax deductions from federal income tax returns.

The governor calls the White House actions a "targeted economic assault", not just on New York State, but on all so-called blue states across the country.

"I believe this is one of the most egregious cases of government recklessness and malpractice. This is political retaliation. These are states that did not vote for the president. These are states which are primarily Democratic states. I think they are governing by their political inclinations -- both positive and negative."

Not surprisingly, the governor says a $4 billion revenue shortfall that he says is caused by the SALT controversy is complicating the state budget process this year.
