Gov. Cuomo announced plans to make New York a global leader in renewable energy, during the third part of his State of the State on Wednesday.

It's a four-part plan that includes building large scale renewable projects, increasing transmission capacity, generating a skilled workforce, and beginning to manufacture green technology.

That manufacturing will happen here in the Capital Region.

Gov. Cuomo says it will create 500 construction jobs.

Around 150 wind turbine towers will be built each year.
