On the heels of Congresswoman Liz Cheney being ousted from her house leadership, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik sent a letter to her colleagues saying why she should fill the post.
Stefanik is the favorite to replace Cheney, and House Republicans are set to take a vote on Friday.
Stefanik tweeted she wants to unify the GOP conference.
She said: "Despite the media's endless attempt to divide us our members are united in our laser focus on defeating the radical socialist Democratic agenda of President Biden and Speaker Pelosi."

Some Democrats say the effort to remove Cheney from her position is a "new and very dangerous low point."
Former President Donald Trump has endorsed Stefanik for the promotion.
Chuck Schumer spoke on the Senate floor, claiming Cheney was fired from her Republican leadership post simply for telling the truth that the 2020 election was fair and legitimate. The majority leader accuses Republicans of bolstering President Trump's falsehoods, and eroding faith in elections and government.
