Faso, Ryan discuss campaign ads, election

November 01, 2018 01:11 PM

Rep. John Faso stopped by NewsChannel 13 on Tuesday. He was accompanied by House Speaker Paul Ryan, who's campaigning and fundraising with 25 congressional candidates in tight races nationwide.

The duo started the morning at a breakfast fundraiser in Albany and then headed to our station.

The Ryan camp allowed NewsChannel 13 10 minutes for the interview.

In this exclusive interview, we discussed a wide range of topics -- including health care, tax cuts and negative campaign ads.

Faso's voting record is almost 90 percent in line with President Trump's policies.

The visit brought out more than a dozen protesters to the NewsChannel 13 studio in Menands, from those opposed to Faso. Protesters from Planned Parenthood and Union-Legion held signs and chanted outside the station. They say they disagree with what Faso stands for.

NewsChannel 13 also spoke with Antonio Delgado. You can watch that interview here.

EDITORS NOTE: Due to a technical malfunction, the last few minutes of the interview were inadvertently cut off when this story was first published. That portion of the video, where Faso responds to criticism of negative ads and Ryan says why voters should choose Faso, has been restored.
