A federal judge for the Northern District of New York says the state’s Senate and congressional primaries will be held on August 23.

The change is needed because judges have thrown out new congressional districts drawn in the state. The judge’s found they were biased towards Democrats.

New York’s gubernatorial primary is still scheduled for June 28.

A decision from the Supreme Court in Steuben County on the same topic was expected soon. The judge there decided on a lawsuit to delay the primary for the Assembly June to August.
