ALBANY – Former Congressman Chris Gibson is weighing in on the current state of affairs in Washington.

Gibson was at The Book House in Stuyvesant Plaza Friday night, signing copies of his book “Rally Point: Five Tasks to Unite the Country and Revitalize the American Dream.”

He compared the signing to his work in politics, saying it's important to be out there hearing from the people. He says the message is simple – keep the faith in a time when the country is so divided.

“We've been in tight spots before. We can overcome this,” Gibson said. “But I do think we need some very serious reform. We need political reform. We need policy reform, so we can restore faith in our ability to be self-governing, and to really strengthen the American dream.”

Gibson stepped down from his seat in the 19th Congressional District last year.
