Mayor Denis Langlois wrote that anyone he knows that voted Democrat on Tuesday should check into a mental health unit, going on to use a derogatory term to describe someone with learning disabilities.

NewsChannel 13 tried to locate the mayor for comment on Wednesday, but he wasn't at his office, his home, or returning our calls.

NewsChannel 13's media partners at The Post-Star report the mayor told a reporter he wrote the post as a person, not an official -- saying he lives for himself and what he believes in -- whether it's politically correct or not.

Someone took a screenshot of the post before Langlois took it down.
