Judge rules NY lawmakers can earn outside income

There's a new state Supreme Court ruling in favor of New York's lawmakers.

State Supreme Court Judge Richard Platkin ruled the lawmakers won't have to give up their outside income.

This means legislators can continue to earn full salaries outside of their elected positions - and they'll receive the raise passed back in April, which is a bump from $79,000 to $110,000.

This is the second decision by a state judge tossing a ban on lawmakers' ability to earn outside incomes.
