New Yorkers overwhelmingly continue to support the SAFE Act. That’s according to a new Siena Research Institute poll.
The poll finds 61 percent support it compared to 28 percent who don’t. That’s up from the 59 to 33 percent in October 2015.
The same poll also found New Yorkers support a national ban on assault weapons, 65 to 32 percent. They also oppose teachers being licensed to carry firearms in school, 69 to 28 percent.
Gov. Cuomo’s favorability rating was also looked at. It held steady, but job performance and re-elect ratings fell a bit.
