GLENS FALLS - In a rally at Centennial Circle in Glens Falls, people raised flags in support of a president they believed all along was innocent of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

This group of supporters are with APEX - the American Patriots Express, and they have called the impeachment process "a sham by House Democrats."

The fact remains no president has ever been removed by the Senate.

NewsChannel 13 knew going into the vote by a Republican led Senate that the president was going to be acquitted and that happened by a vote almost exclusively reflected on party lines.

However, the president did not have the unanimous Republican support he had sought, with Senator Mitt Romney being the only Republican voting to convict the president on abuse of power, the first article impeachment charge.

The co-founder of APEX, Dave Van Scoy says Romney is a RINO, what's referred to as a "Republican In Name Only."

Moving forward, members of APEX hope the president can continue to do his job. Van Scoy says he wants the Republicans to take the House back in 2020.

His message as he celebrates is to tell people to get out and vote.
