Former state Senate aide convicted of domestic violence

A former state Senate aide is found guilty of domestic violence. A jury convicted Robert Nickol.

During the trial, an ex-girlfriend testified Nickol slapped, shoved and tried to strangle her.

In March of last year, she says Nickol hit her in the face and then in September, hit her with an extension cord.

Nickol worked for Orange County Senator William Larkin for seven years before resigning in February.
