State Sen. Kathy Marchione discusses decision to not seek re-election

State Senator Kathy Marchione is talking about her decision not to run for re-election.

As NewsChannel 13 first reported Wednesday night, Marchione will not seek a fourth term this November. She says it's the right time to step down and that she wants to enjoy more time with her mother and her grandchildren.

Marchione represents the 43rd District, which covers parts of Columbia, Rensselaer, Washington and Saratoga counties.

She tells NewsChannel 13 that there are already potential candidates coming forward -- both to her and the Republican Party.
