Democrats win control of NYS Senate

ALBANY, NY – The balance of power in the New York State Legislature has shifted, with Democrats taking control of the Senate.

The party now controls 35 of the 63 seats in the Senate.

New majority leader, Andrea Stewart-Cousins says that they will finally be able to give New Yorkers the progressive leadership they have been demanding.

Republican leader John Flanagan said that even though the election is over, their mission is not.
