The government's star witness in a bribery trial against a former top aide to Governor Cuomo has avoided jail time.

Todd Howe was sentenced to five years' probation Friday afternoon in Manhattan.

He testified against his longtime friend, Joseph Percoco, in a corruption trial.

While on the stand last year, the lobbyist admitted he violated the terms of his plea deal by trying to get a hotel room taken off his credit card bill.
