Emotions ran high Friday in Washington County Court as a woman was sentenced for killing two people while driving drunk and high.
Linsdey Godfrey had a BAC of .12% and marijuana in her system at the time of the crash on State Route 313.
She pleaded guilty in court this past January to vehicular manslaughter, and was sentenced to 4-12 years in prison.
Jill Chadwick described the moments of the crash on August 8, 2020. She described feeling the airbags going off and feeling the squeeze of her husband's hand one last time.
Speaking to Godfrey, Chadwick told her she would never be able to understand what she took from the Chadwick and Hahn families that day, and that she must be held accountable. At the same time, Chadwick said she was working to forgive her.
A remorseful Godfrey told Chadwick she was "so sorry from every corner of her soul."
