Preservationists in Saratoga Springs are celebrating after saving a 170-year-old home from the wrecking ball.
The owners of a vacant home on Phila Street wanted to tear it down. However, the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation said the 1871 house should be preserved.
The city agreed, and the foundation announced it's buying 65 Phila Street for $235,000 and plans to restore it.
Neighbors were pushing to save the home and the one next to it at 69 Phila.
The foundation has made "Revive 65" its rallying cry and plans to sell the home once it's restored.
The home at 69 Phila was bought by a family that plans to make it their home.
