A Saratoga County jury has found Melissa LaPoint not guilty on all counts, including arson and reckless endangerment.

As NewsChannel 13 has been reporting, she was accused of setting fire to her Moreau apartment in August 2018, with her daughter inside.

Her attorney argued police should have focused their investigation on her ex-husband.

Prosecutors told the jury that LaPoint started it because she was concerned about being able to pay her rent and car payment.

This was the first criminal jury trial in Saratoga County in six months and jurors were seated around the courtroom, at least six feet from one another.
