SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Several people are facing charges in Saratoga Springs after a rally supporting police officers was met with clashing protesters.

Thursday night’s Back the Blue rally was protested by a group with the Black Lives Matter movement. The two groups converged in Congress Park. Although tensions were high between the groups, police said no violence occurred.

The Back the Blue rally ended just before 8 p.m. Thursday. Police said that protesters with the Black Lives Matter group continued to protest by laying down in the street at the intersection of Broadway and Congress. The group later made its way up Broadway and began to disrupt traffic.

A video posted on social media shows the heavy artillery brought in by police.

Protesters with the Black Lives Matter movement who showed up at the rally said they were met with hatred.

“We ended up doing a march after they got assaulted a few times. A few people got assaulted, pushed and shoved, and everything else," said Lexis Figuero, leader of "All of Us.'"

Police arrested three people for blocking traffic after issuing several warnings. They arrested two adults and one juvenile.
