Students at South Glens Falls High School will learn Monday morning that their wildly popular South High Marathon Dance will go forward as planned next month.
However, it will be in a new location for the first time in its 44-year history.
After months of discussion with health officials, organizers will share their plans for a socially distant marathon dance to be held at the Great Escape on Friday, April 30.
It will not be carrying over into Saturday this year, but it will be held all day and night on Friday, as the school will declare that day a superintendent’s conference day and there will not be classes.
The dance is the largest annual fundraising event in the Capital Region, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars each year for people and charities in need.
Organizers say the space at the Great Escape allows them to safely spread out and still have an event the kids will never forget.
