Saratoga Springs to receive VLT funding

SARATOGA SPRINGS - It appears Saratoga Springs taxpayers have reason to be thankful.

Finance Commissioner Michele Madigan says she's gotten word that the budget will include $2.3 million that the initial spending plan was going to cut.

The state gives aid to cities that host VLT facilities as a way to offset the cost of public safety and maintaining roads and streets. Madigan and others lobbied lawmakers to restore it and it appears their efforts worked.
