SCHENECTADY - The Schenectady School District sent a letter home this week, announcing a new principal at Zoller Elementary School. The change caught many parents by surprise.

NewsChannel 13 has been working to get answers. This after district officials sent a letter home with students Wednesday, announcing retired administrator Kathy Lupi has been named the acting principal at Zoller.

NewsChannel 13 obtained a copy of that letter dated Wednesday. It says Kathy Lupi spent many years in the district as a principal and has "vast experience leading an elementary school and working closely with students, parents and staff."

However, there's no mention of what happened to Zoller's beloved principal, Patricia Pat Doyle. Parents are also telling us neither Doyle nor Zoller instructional supervisor Desmond O'Connor have been at the school since students returned from winter break last month.

NewsChannel 13 spoke with several parents and guardians at dismissal on Thursday. They're hoping district officials will provide more answers.
