18-year-old killed in tractor trailer vs. car crash on Union St.

Niskayuna police are investigating deadly crash that happened Friday night.

Police say it happened on Union Street at the intersection of Route 7 just after 10 p.m.


Jnaya Williams, 18, of Schenectady failed to stop for a red light and was hit by a tractor-trailer according to officers.

Williams’ passenger, Naylon Carrington, 18, of Schenectady was taken to Ellis Hospital where he later died.

Another passenger went to Albany Med with non-life threatening injuries. The tractor-trailer driver, a man from Delanson, was not injured.

Police say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash. The cause is still under investigation.
