Schenectady man admits to murder

A Schenectady man pleaded guilty to murder on Tuesday.

Budhnarain Kadar, also known as Danny, admitted to choking Marian Singh in the apartment they shared on Maplewood Avenue in Schenectady.

Prosecutors say he pled guilty to the entire indictment in return for a sentence of 19 years to life in prison.

At sentencing the judge will also issue an order of protection for the victim's daughter and order Kadar to pay up to $11,000 to cover Singh's funeral expenses.

He is in the Schenectady County Jail without bail as he awaits sentencing.
