Niskayuna police officer injured while making arrest

A Niskayuna police officer is injured, and a man is behind bars.
Police say they responded Monday to a burglary. Officers say a man broke into a garage while a homeowner was home.
A short time later, police say an officer spotted Kyle Bellick on River Road, near Line Drive. When the officer went up to him, police say Bellick started fighting the officer.
The officer took him into custody with the help of a passerby.
The officer was injured and taken to Ellis Hospital for treatment.
Bellick is charged with assault of a police officer and burglary.
