SCHENECTADY - Someone hit and killed a driver in Schenectady early Tuesday morning.

It happened in the area of Broadway and Millard around 1:40 a.m. The road was still closed to traffic around lunchtime, but with a much smaller police presence.

Belongings like a bag and shoe were strewn along the road earlier, and police were tagging evidence.

Police can't give any information at this point about the age or gender of the victim, as they are still notifying family members.

They're using all different types of tools to figure out exactly what happened and try to locate a driver. That includes canvassing the area for any surveillance video.

State police were also on scene using a drone in their investigation.

Although it was very early in the morning when this happened, investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the police department at their tips line 518-788-6566.
