More than 1,000 furloughed Rivers Casino & Resort workers have been issued WARN notices.

WARN stands for Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification. It requires employers to give advanced notice of any possible closures or layoffs.

The casino has been closed since March due to the pandemic.

They say it’s uncertain how long any furloughs could continue and if they could become permanent.

They also say they would like to reopen as soon as the state allows it.
