State police release names of victims in fatal I-890 crash

ROTTERDAM -- State police have released the identities of the victims in a fatal crash on I-890 this weekend.

The accident, which involved one vehicle, happened at 11:59 p.m. Saturday. Troopers responded to the area of exit 9A where a vehicle was off the south shoulder of the roadway. Six people were inside the vehicle.


Police said 32-year-old Latara Chandler of Troy died at the scene. Emergency crews transported 11-year-old Elon Carter of Schenectady to Albany Medical Center. Carter later died at the hospital.

Emergency crews transported 29-year-old Aisha Brown of Schenectady, and 14-year-old Serenitey Bush of Schenectady, to Albany Medical Center with critical injuries. They are in stable condition.

Police said 30-year-old Desnae Felton and Zanaya Chandler were also taken to Albany Medical Center with non-critical injuries.
