Will there or won't there be a plea deal in the case against Nauman Hussain?

Attorneys for Hussain said earlier this week a plea was in the works for the operator of the limousine company involved in the 2018 Schoharie limo crash that killed 20 people.

Families of those victims came together Friday, urging the district attorney in charge of the prosecution to listen to their thoughts on a possible plea agreement.

The families want this go to trial. They want to see Nauman Hussain serve jail time.

However, if there is going to be a plea deal, they want to make sure part of it is Hussain must tell the truth about the events that led up to that day.

Members of several of the victims' families came together Friday with the attorneys that are relearning them in their civil cases.

Attorneys have said there are concerns that prosecutors won't be able to prove Hussain is guilty.

The role that Mavis Discount Tire in Saratoga Springs played in the limousine's compromised operating condition seems to be an extenuating factor here.

Did they or did they not falsify records on the braking systems and inspections?

Attorneys in the criminal case said earlier this week a plea deal could result in Hussain not serving any jail time.

The civil attorneys said the families sent an impact statement, they have talked with district attorney Susan Mallery, but they feel as if their needs and desires and hopes are being ignored.

Many of the families had their attorneys read their statements Friday.

The one family member who took to the podium was Linda King. She lost all four of her daughters in that crash.
