A new lawsuit has been filed in connection with the 2018 Schoharie limo crash.

Attorney Brian Premo says the suit was filed against Mavis Discount Tire and Nauman Hussain on behalf of the family of victim Michael Ukaj.

He is one of the 20 people who died.

The lawsuit details the events leading up to the crash, including the driver's worries that the brakes weren't working properly.

The suit also alleges that Mavis knew that the limo was in grossly defective condition.

A Mavis spokesperson released the following statement to NewsChannel 13:

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the victims of this tragic accident. However, Mavis bears no legal responsibility for this tragedy and the events that led up to it, and we will defend ourselves vigorously against all claims."
