99-year-old Capital Region sports icon fondly remembered

Big Board Sports is honoring the life and career of Tom Brennan, who passed away last week at the age of 99. Tommy, as he was called, was a local sports icon.

Brennan was a 1938 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School.

He refereed and umpired over 4,100 soccer, basketball, football and baseball games.

Brennan is a member of the Upstate New York Basketball Hall of Fame, Capital Region Football Hall of Fame and Schenectady City School District Athletic Hall of Fame.

Brennan was a beloved and respected official and umpire with a dynamic personality.

Brennan will be missed, but never forgotten.
