Albany Empire closing local business operations

The future of the Arena Football League could be in jeopardy.

As first reported in the Times Union, the Arena Bowl champions the Albany Empire and five other franchises are closing local business operations.

However, there's no word yet on whether the league will suspend operations completely.

Coaches, staff, and players got the news Tuesday afternoon.

The move stems from financial restraints caused by a lawsuit filed against the league.
